Sober Living + IOP

WHY WE RECOMMEND INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides structured support for individuals who live independently rather than at a treatment facility. Participants that reside in a sober living while attending scheduled therapy sessions, group activities, and recovery-focused programs at the treatment center experience the most success.

At IOP programs, such as Thrive Treatment, people must attend at least three days per week, with each session lasting approximately three hours. For those seeking additional guidance and structure, such programs offer the flexibility to participate up to five days per week based on personal needs and recovery goals.

"Our mission at The Nook, with our sober living homes in Los Angeles, is to provide a customized and flexible approach for men and women looking to progress and transform their lives in sobriety."

What is Sober Living

Our Sober Livings in Los Angeles offer residents a range of valuable benefits. One of the key advantages is the continued support and structure it provides, helping individuals stay on track in their recovery journey.

With guidance from treatment staff and encouragement from peers, you can build confidence in your sobriety. Additionally, sober living serves as a space to practice essential life skills that will be crucial as you transition back into daily life. These include tasks like grocery shopping, managing finances, doing laundry, maintaining personal hygiene, and establishing a healthy routine.

Another major benefit is the opportunity to expand your support network. Living alongside others in recovery allows you to connect with people from different backgrounds, gaining insight from their unique experiences and perspectives.

Most importantly, our sober living in Los Angeles helps lower the chances of relapse. It provides a safe environment where you can strengthen the relapse prevention strategies learned in treatment and better understand how to navigate triggers at home.

By the time you complete sober living, you’ll feel more empowered and confident in following your personal recovery plan, setting a strong foundation for long-term success.

Questions & Answers.

How much does sober living cost?

That all depends on its location.

Many are in residential areas, making an effort to blend into a private living environment as much as possible. Rent is most likely comparable with the property values of the neighborhood. Also, it depends on whether the home is modestly equipped and furnished or if it provides luxurious amenities.

Each person is expected to pay for their own costs through employment. Some sober living homes will accept full-time students, possibly receiving income from family members or a school loan.

Can I work or go to school?

Residents in our extended care homes who are not involved in aftercare such as an IOP or PHP should be actively seeking employment as soon as possible.

What if I need detox or treatment?

If you should need detox or inpatient treatment, we will work with you to find a program that best meets your individual needs.

Can I have visitors?

Immediate family are welcome into common living areas at any time. No members of the opposite sex are permitted in residents’ bedrooms.

Do you go on group outings?

Yes! We believe that recovery should be fun. From weekly group activities to outings such as sporting events, camping and more, we offer our residents fun in sobriety.
